Most people are in a rush to look for the best items whenever there is a notice of sale on the big malls here in the country. The scene inside these malls is almost becoming similar to the festivals or concert event.s There are of course attractive ads and eye-catching signs when you get into the mall and then shop. There is as well a mascot parade where everybody especially kids happen to have a chance of seeing these food characters up close and personal. The place is an amazing day. Everyone is not only excited; they are putting away their money since it is sale.

It could have been very difficult to find out if most of these people going for a sale shopping really have the savings to spend when this periodic event comes into the spotlight. Or are they just there for a visit and do window shopping to see if they can get the cheapest price whenever there is an opportunity? No one knows. This is a busy day. Sales guys are paid to entertain customers. Customers are entitled to claim the discounts.

But is there really a discount? What does 50% OFF really means? What does the word “Sale” means? If you would just scrutinize the web, you would find it hard to get a simpler and clearer answer. Most are technical definitions except from the definition of the “Bargain Sale” which states that it is a way of transferring ownership of an asset for less than the market value or simply a sale at less than the full market value of the property. Stop for a while. Think it over.

If an item is sold at 50% OFF at an equivalent cost of 100 pesos, then its full market value is 200 pesos. Being a consumer, the seller would not tell you how much is the real market value. What you will see on the price tags are prices marked with an “X” and a new price if not in bold characters but are then printed on attractive colors of paper. Financially wise, you were only given a discount but the seller still got the profit out of the items being sold.

The quality or freshness of the items being sold is another different thing to discuss. Is the fashion still in?
